Overview
Cheridose is a medication reminder and tracking aid. The app does not require a Cheridose account for everyday use. Cheridose does not automatically upload your medication schedules or dose history to its servers. If you choose to include health information in feedback or an email, we receive what you send.
We do not sell personal information or use advertising networks. We do not add third-party behavioral analytics to the app or website. Hosting, operational diagnostics, and Apple's beta-testing services are described below.
- Your core medication data is stored on your device.
- Feedback is optional; an email address is only needed if you want a reply.
- Support messages are private and deleted from our mailbox within 90 days.
Information stored on your device
Your profile and medication-planning information are stored locally on your device. Depending on the features you use, this may include:
- your profile name and timezone settings;
- medication names, strengths, and instructions;
- Dose Events, schedules, reminders, and notification-sound choices;
- records of doses marked taken, late, missed, skipped, snoozed, or partial;
- travel plans and clinician-directed taper schedules.
This information is used on your device to calculate upcoming Dose Events, show history, schedule local notifications, and provide features you choose to use.
Alarms and notifications
Cheridose schedules alarms and notifications on your device using Apple's system services. Persistent due alarms and notifications have separate permissions. Apple controls those permissions and delivery. Dose names may appear on your lock screen; review your device's notification and privacy settings if this is a concern.
Optional feedback and support
You can choose to send a feature request, bug report, or support email to support@cheridose.com. When you tap Send in the app, your feedback is submitted over HTTPS through Amazon Web Services (AWS) and emailed to our support mailbox. Your email address is optional and is used if you would like a reply. We receive your message and the information you choose to include. Older app versions and the email fallback use your own email app; sending that way also shares your sender email address.
Bug reports also include available app version and build, device and system information, time of the report, originating screen, language, timezone, theme, reminder settings, schedule count, and browser information to help investigate the problem. Medication names, instructions, and dose history are not attached automatically. Please do not include sensitive medication or health details in your message unless they are necessary for your support request.
These emails are private, not public. Within Cheridose, access to the support mailbox is restricted to Cheridose employees. We use the information to respond to requests, investigate bugs, and consider feature requests. AWS processes the submission and sends the email; Zoho hosts our support mailbox. This is separate from the app's on-device medication storage. We do not keep report contents in a feedback database or server logs. AWS necessarily processes network information such as your IP address to receive the request. To limit abuse and duplicates, we temporarily store submission identifiers, content fingerprints, sending status, counters, and a keyed hash of your IP address—not the raw IP address.
These temporary records expire after 48 hours and are automatically removed by AWS, which may take several additional days. Operational logs without report contents are retained for seven days. Aggregate delivery and error metrics help us monitor reliability; we do not enable email-open or click tracking for feedback.
You do not need an email app or email address to send feedback from current versions of Cheridose. Without a reply address, we can review the report but cannot email you a response. Sending feedback does not subscribe you to a mailing list.
Services, signups, and external links
TestFlight beta testing
If you install Cheridose through TestFlight, Apple collects beta-testing information and makes crash logs, usage information, and feedback available to us. Feedback you submit through TestFlight can include screenshots and tester details. This is separate from Cheridose's in-app feedback form. We use beta-testing information to investigate problems and improve the app. Apple's collection and retention are explained in TestFlight & Privacy; our 90-day support-mailbox policy does not control Apple's records.
This website
GitHub Pages hosts this website. GitHub logs visitor IP addresses for security, including visits by people who are not signed into GitHub. See GitHub Pages privacy information. These hosting records are separate from your medication data and are managed by GitHub.
App Store purchases
If you buy or restore Cheridose Premium, Apple processes the transaction through the App Store. Cheridose reads the resulting purchase and entitlement information on your device so it can unlock Premium features. Apple handles payment details under its own privacy policy; Cheridose does not receive your full payment-card information.
External links
This website may link to the App Store or Apple. Visiting an external website or app allows that provider to receive the information normally sent by your browser or device, such as an IP address and device information.
Beta and launch interest list
If you choose to join the Cheridose early-access list, we collect your email address and whether you are interested in beta testing, an App Store launch notification, or both. We use that information only for the updates you requested and do not ask for medication information.
You may join through email or a form hosted by Zoho Forms. If you use the hosted form, Zoho processes and stores your submission on our behalf. You can ask us to remove your signup at any time by contacting support@cheridose.com.
Retention, deletion, and security
We retain support and Feedback emails for no more than 90 days after receipt, then delete them from our support mailbox. Deleting data in Cheridose does not delete emails already sent. Our mailbox deletion does not remove copies in your own email account.
Core medication data remains on your device until you delete it. You can remove locally stored Cheridose data using the app's “Forget all data” control. Removing the app from your device also removes its local app data. Cheridose does not provide its own cloud backup or multi-device sync, so deleted local data may not be recoverable. Device backups managed outside Cheridose are separate from the app's deletion controls.
To ask about, correct, or request deletion of feedback or signup information you sent us, contact support@cheridose.com. We may need enough information to identify your submission; please do not send medical records as proof of identity.
Local information is protected by the security of your device and operating system. Use a device passcode and keep iOS current. No local storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children
Cheridose and its early-access list are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal information.
Policy changes
We may update this policy when Cheridose changes. The latest version will remain available on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
